Is It Tango? Or Something Else? Part 3

Finally, my personal favourite: the Milonga. Typically Milonga is fast, joyful and energetic as in the first video. It can also be a wonderful slow dance, as in the second clip – again to a personal favourite composer, Hugo Diaz.

Milonga is a slightly earlier form of tango. The difference between the Milonga and the Tango is again in the form of the beat. Also in many cases a simplified palette of steps and a different intent to the fully developed tango.
